The Charlevoix Public Library is located in a small rural area with limited access to health specialists .The Library's mission is to educate, enrich and empower. Chronic health issues combined with the general populations limited computer skills, made this an ideal environment to provide access to quality health information targeting both adults and children. This information was provided thru apps loaded onto user-friendly iPads. Funding provided by the Greater Midwest Chapter of the National Library of Medicine supported the purchase of 16 iPads located in select physician offices, school nurse offices and in the Hospital waiting rooms. This poster session will describe the process used to identify quality health apps, manage the iPads, identity the most pressing health issues in the community and train health professionals on the use of the apps.
