In early 2017 the University of Split Library in Split, Croatia and the Penn State University Libraries in Pennsylvania began to explore the development of a sister-library partnership as part of a larger university-to-university relationship. Over the course of the last two years both libraries have worked to develop communication channels, find areas of common interest, understand our respective contexts, and establish joint projects. The proposed poster will explore the establishment of this partnership and its potential for further future development. In particular, the poster will address issues of financing, communication, institutional and cultural differences and the roles these issues play in the establishment of such a partnership.
