While much detail and care goes into describing and making collections available for online discovery, there are times when even the best plans go off the rails. In the event where messy metadata ends up online, what do you do? At the Oklahoma State University Library, as we continue to make improvements to collection metadata, we teamed up with one of our developers to create a desktop application to help streamline the troubleshooting of problem files housed within our institutional repository. This tool assists in not only helping us maintain a high level of metadata quality, but also in providing a mechanism to identify objects which may need attention and/or remediation. This poster will provide insight into remediating digital collections and will highlight techniques used to streamline processes.
