Library Technical Services ensure resources are searchable and accessible through the creation and management of metadata. This metadata does more than describe resources; it describes works and research generated by students and faculty of the university. By analyzing metadata from theses, dissertations, and faculty publications produced at [the] university, we can 1) identify our strong research areas and how they’ve evolved over time, 2) suggest opportunities for cross-departmental collaboration based on intersecting subjects, 3) form data driven decisions for library acquisitions and collection development, 4) and target gaps in metadata for future enhancement. To better illustrate the findings of this research, both static and digital interactive data visualizations are included.
