Are your students overwhelmed, stressed, or unable to focus? What about you? Mindfulness could help. What is the value of mindfulness personally? Within librarianship, how can it play a role with students and colleagues, in leadership or instruction? How can it inform content selection or shape the library environment? This session will explore these contexts for mindfulness and give participants an opportunity to practice mindfulness and consider its applications for their librarianship and in their communities. Takeaways include simple mindfulness techniques that participants can apply right away, practical strategies for integrating mindfulness into librarianship, and resources for further learning about mindfulness in both school and university settings.
