Program
Join the National Book Foundation for a celebration focused on the literary legacy and seminal works of James Baldwin, a four-time National Book Award Finalist (Giovanni’s Room, Nobody Knows My Name, The Fire Next Time, and Just Above My Head). The program will include a discussion between National Book Awards-honored authors Jason Reynolds (Ghost, Long Way Down) and Ibi Zoboi (American Street), who will talk about the importance of Baldwin, his work’s enduring relevance, and how we can better incorporate Baldwin's themes and text into our reading and our lives. Author in Focus: James Baldwin is presented with filmmaker Raoul Peck and Velvet Films, the team behind I Am Not Your Negro, with funding from the Ford Foundation. This conversation will be moderated by Hannah Oliver Depp.
