In Dandro’s memoir, he’s struggling to break his family’s cycle of substance abuse, trauma, and violence. In Naffziger’s thriller, a freshman-to-be negotiates the darkness behind her parent’s over-protectiveness. And Wroten’s bitingly funny novel spotlights an aspiring queer artist who hasn’t quite found her way to artistic fulfillment.
