Mike Marlin, Director, California State Library, Braille and Talking Book Library
Mike Marlin currently directs Northern California's NLS Regional Library for the Blind and otherwise Print Disabled. He has worked in public and government libraries for many years as an accessibility advocate and liaison to multiple stakeholders in the print disability community at large. In addition to serving on ALA Council and Executive Board, the Digital Content Working Group, and other relevant committees, he serves as ALA's representative to the IFLA Libraries Serving Persons with Print Disabilities Section. He is legally blind and utilizes assistive and adaptive technology to access alternate format audio and braille books/magazines, videos, and web sites, and myriad other information sources. Mike is an accessibility advocate for librarians, library staff and patrons on either side of the digital divide.
