San Jose State University’s School of Information
Dr. Anthony Bernier is full Professor at the world’s largest library school: California’s San Jose State University School of Information. He is currently serving on the Executive Board of ALA’s Library History Round Table and the Advisory Boards of Zambia’s Lubuto Library Project, and Voice of Youth Advocates (VOYA) where he also publishes his bi-monthly “YA Strike Zone” column. Before joining the SJSU faculty in 2005, he served as a professional librarian and administrator for nearly 15 years - during which time he designed the nation’s first purpose-built YA library space: TeenS’cape. Dr. Bernier has received two large IMLS National Leadership research grants, served a four-year ALA presidential appointment to the Committee on Accreditation (COA), and is former chair of several national professional and academic associations. The iSchool has honored him with Distinguished Service, Outstanding Professor, and Outstanding Researcher Awards.
He is also editor of the forthcoming second edition of Transforming Young Adult Services published by ALAEditions.
