Her latest, the New York Times bestseller An American Marriage, is an Oprah’s Book Club Selection and appeared on Barack Obama’s summer reading list as well as in his year-end roundup. The novel was awarded the Women’s Prize for Fiction, Aspen Words Prize, an NAACP Image Award, and has sold over 500,000 copies domestically. She is currently a Charles Howard Candler Professor at Emory University and A.D. White Professor At Large at Cornell University.
