More than 100 million U.S. adults are now living with diabetes or prediabetes. In the U.S., black adults are nearly twice as likely as white adults to develop type 2 diabetes. People with diabetes often have other health conditions, or comorbidities including heart disease, high blood pressure, obesity, and cancer. This racial disparity has been rising over the last 30 years. The panel of experts will address the diabetes continuum with a focus on health systems, community and population health approaches, nutritional support, digital solutions, cognitive behavioral training interventions and a screening of A Touch of Sugar documentary.
