The 2019 Honorable A. Leon Higginbotham Memorial Voting Rights Braintrust will hear civil rights and democracy advocates, former government officials, and policy experts and advocates about the state of voter suppression and the immediate need to restore full implementation of the Voting Rights Act. The discussion will focus on efforts in Congress, legislative and committee, and the national community to ensure free and unfettered access to the ballot box. Preliminary information regarding findings from the House Administration Elections Subcommittee during field hearings being held around the country on Voting Rights and Elections Administration may also be shared.
