Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) will serve as honorary host of a panel discussion examining the broken criminal justice system, specifically race and policing, mandatory minimum sentences, and wrongful convictions. The panel will include members of the Exonerated 5 and other advocates, and focus on how rhetoric and policies from the Trump administration have contributed to this broken system and hindered reform efforts, as well as what legislation and other actions are necessary to correct the damage done by the present administration.
