We are interested in the steps we have taken and the steps we need to take for the District of Columbia to become the 51st state by becoming a greater part of the national conversation. Since Democrats have assumed control of the House, we have made record-setting progress with our D.C. statehood bill expected to pass the House this Congress. Despite our success, our work is not nearly done. The work to be done to get our bill through the Senate demonstrates the importance and timeliness of this panel to help further nationalize our fight.
