Hip-hop has continued to contribute to perspectives that have lead to a rebirth in black politics. The genre has influenced a new ideological sphere that has evolved into a lens to allow us to look at America, particularly American politics, in a way never seen before. This forum is a platform for panelists and audience members to discuss the reach, influence, and power of the Hip Hop community in the current political landscape. Panelists will jin subject experts, industry leaders, elected officials and citizen activists to explore how the Hip Hop community can contribute to new thoughts and the rebirth of culture in the black community. In past years, legendary Hip Hop personalities including Rakim, DMC, MC Lyte, Rhymefest, Mike Epps, Angela Rye, Monie Love, Lord Jamar and Big Tigger have participated as panelists.
