Urban Revitalization is a set of initiatives and guidelines aimed at reorganizing an existing city structure, particularly in disadvantaged neighborhoods in decline due to economic or social reasons. One way to engage these communities and assist in redevelopment is through Transit Oriented Development. Through transit oriented development, community development is created strategically to be within walking distance of public transportation and other city amenities such as housing, office, and retail shops. This panel will focus on how communities that are facing inequitable revitalization can introduce the transit oriented development and discuss among professionals some of the best ways to implement TOD into communities
