Nurse leaders control the largest part of a hospital labor budget, and in some cases the largest part of the overall budget. Overseeing this responsibility can mean the difference between an organization’s financial stability and turmoil. This full-day program will provide nurse leaders education on key financial concepts necessary for effectively managing the financial performance of perioperative services. Content of the program includes an in-depth analysis of staffing in the perioperative areas, including productivity calculations and possible reasons for not meeting targets, understanding of organizational measurements for financial success and how the perioperative leader impacts these measurements, a deeper understanding of revenue and expense variances, operational budgets, capital equipment justifications, and how to develop a return of investment break even analysis.
