Patricia H. Folcarelli, PhD, RN, is vice president, health care quality at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) and lecturer on medicine at Harvard Medical School. She leads efforts related to patient safety, patient relations, risk management, infection control, and emergency management. Pat began her career at New York University Medical Center and then relocated to Boston where over the past 20 years she has held several positions at BIDMC. Pat was the director of professional practice development for patient care services prior to being director of patient safety. Pat is the president of the Massachusetts Society for Healthcare Risk Management and the Board Chair for Medically Induced Trauma Support Services (MITSS).
