Leilani A. Salimone, MSN, RN, NE-BC, CNOR, works at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida as the OR nurse manager and she recently completed her MSN in Nursing Administration at the University of Texas at Arlington. Quality care, service excellence, and patient safety continue to be essential drivers in her practice as a nurse leader. She thrives on challenges, welcomes innovative strategies, drives change initiatives, and nurtures collaborative working relationships. Salimone joined the IRC to become more involved with AORN at the national level and to have the opportunity to network with international perioperative nurses. She is intrigued with IRC as perioperative nursing practice crosses borders, cultures, and languages in order to achieve the best outcomes for all surgical patients. No conflict.
