Staff Development Specialist
ProHealth Care
East Troy, Wisconsin
I have been a perioperative nurse for nearly 7 years. I have been active in working on policies in my facility and precepting new nurses. I have worked in the charge nurse role, and have actively developed my leadership skills by coordinating collaborative staffing assignments and assisting new nurses on my shift with clinical skill development. I have had my CNOR since 2016. In 2017 I was the recipient of AORN's 40 under 40 award, and in 2018 I accepted an appointment to the Guidelines Advisory Board. I was elected President of my local AORN Chapter in 2018, where I am actively working to increase engagement of my chapter members in professional development. I am currently a Staff Development Specialist for the OR and PACU for two local hospitals where I coordinate onboarding and orientation planning, provide insight into current evidence-based practice and the AORN Guidelines, assist staff with professional development opportunities, and engage staff in continuing education.
