Prehabilitation of Surgical Patients: What Can We Do to Improve Surgical Outcomes? #2004 (1.00 CH)
The concept of prehabilitation represents a series of actions we can take to potentially improve the outcomes of surgical patients. Through appropriate preoperative evaluation, team organization, and implementation of steps and protocols to better prepare patients for a surgical procedure, they may better tolerate the physiologic surgical stress. We will review some of the available evidence for this concept and give examples of clinics organized to accomplish the task.
