Learn about the connection of AORN and QSEN and relate it to how QSEN supports AORN's mission. Development of modules/learning tools will tell the story and provide history. Data on wrong site surgeries will support why this matters/is important (macro-view). Kathy Burke from HUP will discuss the application of QSEN to clinical ladders in practice (closer view), followed by Colleen Mattioni discussing and demonstrating the application of the QSEN competencies to competency-based annual evaluation and the results one year post implementation (close up view of direct care givers). Colleen and Kathy will share specific information/forms and identify lessons learned and "how to" aspects of implementation.

Learning Objectives:

• Discuss the application of QSEN competency to clinical ladders of nursing practice.
• Identify strategies and measures of success post-implementation of QSEN competency-based performance appraisals in the perioperative setting.
• Demonstrate the application of QSEN to competency-based performance appraisals and clinical advancement in the perioperative practice setting.
