Leave this session with an understanding of what has been learned about teamwork training and where there is opportunity to broaden its availability. The perspective on teamwork training comes from an examination of approaches in a variety of industries and review of the published literature on effectiveness and impact of many methods. A framework will be shared that may be adaptable to many contexts and have sufficiently low burden of adoption that it can be widely used.

Learning Objectives:

• Describe the role teamwork training has in high reliability fields, current use in the health care industry, and the published literature on effectiveness.
• Present a new teamwork training framework designed to be sufficiently low burden to support broad and rapid adoption.
• Discuss the next stage of the project and how interested audience members can help us test and improve upon the teamwork training tool.
