The audience will see a simulated OR, with actors portraying a laparoscopic cholecystectomy case. During the case, a laparoscopic light is inadvertently left on the surgical drape, resulting in a drape fire. The OR team is shown responding to the fire, and communicating to the Main Desk of the Surgical Suite.

Learning Objectives:

• Identify key team training principles to improve communication in the OR in response to a fire.
• Introduce simulation to educate OR personnel about fire safety.
• Review the Fire Triangle to outline initial responses to an OR fire.
