A brief overview of the current literature on surgical smoke will be followed by a detailed description of the randomized control trial performed at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania to compare methods of smoke evacuation. We will discuss how to implement AORN's Go Clear™ Initiative.

• Identify evidenced-based interventions for minimizing surgical plume in the OR.
