This facilitated panel discussion will provide different perspective regarding standards, guidelines, and recommendations to drive practice across the globe. Perspectives include New Zealand's unique environment that requires standards to meet cultural, social, and physiological needs, and health regulation requirements, and how in The Netherlands, where the population of OR professionals is 5,000, the group is too small for a professional action plan for guideline development on a large scale. Standard practices for guideline development used to create the AORN Guidelines for Perioperative Practice will also be discussed, in addition to lessons learned from implementation in the U.S.
