It has been a little over ten years since perioperative nurses were invited to have a seat at table with the World Health Organization (WHO). This panel will present the history of this collaboration to include the development and launch of the Safe Surgery Checklist; advancing education, collaboration, and networking through attendance at the Global Nursing Leadership Institute program; sharing an entrepreneurial approach as a graduate degree experience for Health Policy and Reform led to eight weeks in Geneva; and Where are we now? Current activities of IFPN interfacing with ICN and WHO.
