Several devices that have come into our OR were researched to determine how to keep the existing implanted device safe with the use of energy-generating devised during a surgical procedure. We have compiled the instructions for use for the most common implantable devices. We have developed a guideline that is easy to read that will show what each medical device is and how coordination prior to the day of the procedure can keep the patient's device in working order after the elective procedure is completed.
