Unplanned Hypothermia and Postoperative Delirium: What's the Connection? #1065 (0.75 CH)
Depending on type of surgery, comorbidities, and delirium assessment method, delirium has been found in up to 72% of postoperative patients. While there has been mention of hypothermia and hyperthermia as precipitating factors for delirium development, there is little to no supporting evidence specifically linking temperature and delirium development. The results from our retrospective, exploratory study will discuss the associations between unplanned intraoperative hypothermia and postoperative delirium in patients undergoing non-cardiac surgery.
