Pre-AP for Art
AP Annual Conference Submission
Updated AP Art and Design portfolio requirements now place increased emphasis on students’ ongoing documentation of their own processes of artistic investigation, as well as their ability to describe this process in writing. The new Pre-AP Visual Arts course highlights a similar process-based approach, and Pre-AP instructional strategies can directly prepare students to thoughtfully produce a body of work for their AP portfolios. In this session, College Board facilitators will lead participants in an examination of links between Pre-AP and AP expectations in the arts, and will model strategies for facilitating student experimentation and reflective writing as methods for documenting and discussing the ongoing development of their creative work.
