063 - Successes and Challenges of an AP Program in a Rural School

"The" Cascade High School, a National Blue Ribbon school is a rural school with a successful AP program. There are special challenges for rural schools in setting up and maintaining a successful program. The strategies for success that have been implemented will be shared along with the strategies used to overcome the special challenges in the rural school. Opportunities will be given to ask questions and discuss with other participants the individual challenges and strategies that have been successful. At the session, each participant will 1) identify the challenges at their school along with determining possible causes of the challenge, 2) generate at least three strategies to implement at their school to increase success, allow for a successful expansion of an AP program, or overcome a challenge to AP success at their school.
