Many find the reasoning and writing skills for the AP history classes hard to access and teach but, using some tested models, these skills can be more easily applied to every class. Participants will discuss the reasoning and writing skills outlined in the Course and Exam Descriptions for all three history exams and then learn methods that have been honed to teach contextualization, causation, comparison, and CCOT. Participants will see modeled, and then practice, the instructional techniques with prompts from the 2019 history exams. Instructional calendars, handouts, and templates will be provided in both hard-copies and digitally.
