AP reports 5 grades for student performance. However, to many AP users the process for how the different grades are determined remain a mystery. This session will provide an overview of the processes used to determine the AP grades including a focus on not only what is done but the rationale behind why it is done. The goal is to provide more transparency into the process and show how educators are involved every step of the way to ensure cut scores are reasonable and defensible should they ever be challenged. Materials from past standard setting sessions will be used as examples.
