Government and Politics: Comparative
AP Annual Conference Submission
As part of the ongoing process to make AP course and exam materials more effective for teachers and students, changes have been made to the AP Comparative Government and Politics course framework and exam. Modifications to the curriculum have created a course that is more focused, more skill-based, more applicable, and more manageable; while multiple choice questions and FRQs will be both comfortably familiar for teachers and students yet more effective at assessment and evaluation of concept and skill mastery. A brief analysis of the new framework will be combined with examples of course outlines, unit plans, and lesson suggestions. Both sample multiple choice, conceptual, and data analysis questions will be reviewed with a workshop focus on deconstructing, assessing, and preparing students to succeed on the new Argumentative FRQ.
