Leveraging School-Community Partnerships to provide enhanced learning opportunities using real-world scenarios and exposure to content experts creates an opportunity to bridge to higher education and to provide long-term benefits for the community at large. School-community partnerships, when clearly defined, can enhance and improve instruction and student experience in Psychology and other AP courses. Creative teachers, who connect with local content experts provide a dynamic, authentic and rigorous learning environment that supports and enhances AP curriculum. During this session we will explore the partnership between Profile School psychology class and Dr. Howell-Woodbury, a behavioral psychologist at New Hampshire Hospital. Together we will provide a framework for teachers who want to implement a similar program at their school and work with educators during the session to develop a plan and set of personalized resources to support them in this endeavor.
