Participants will explore the test construction, scoring decisions, and student exam performance on Free Response Questions from the 2019 AP US History exam with the Chief Reader. Participants will learn how the Scoring Leaders applied the rubrics to students responses and worked to establish consistent alignment across multiple questions. Participants will learn about the strengths and weaknesses of student responses and how those results suggest potential teaching strategies to support student excellence. Participants will find patterns in quantitative data on student scoring ranges from different questions. During a question and answer session, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on the ongoing maturation of the redesign and other issues they want to raise.
