AP Annual Conference Submission
This session will show how to incorporate mind mapping into daily practice and how to make this strategy work for all students using Universal Design for Learning principles. Mind mapping has proven to be incredibly flexible for both teachers and students in exposing areas of need, building content knowledge, organizing writing and group projects, and reviewing content. Students enjoy the creative freedom to design their own mind maps and incorporate art into subjects usually lacking in this artistic expression. We feel strongly that all students should have the opportunity to experience the challenge of an AP course and this strategy helps students at all levels connect and incorporate the course's material. As teachers that use this strategy, we would love to share how we have incorporated it into our practice, student examples, and evidence of improvement.
