During this session, faculty and administration from Pinecrest Preparatory Academy Charter High School will share best practices on creating a school-wide plan to support and engage AP students. The presenters will share ideas for creating a variety of activities that target new and experienced AP students including: • AP Pep Rally to recognize students that participated in the summer boot camp, earned “5”s and unveils AP Scholar banners; • Friday AP Homework Party (with celebrity appearances) • AP Parent Dinner Night (with a college admissions twist) • AP Student Council • AP Potential for All celebration • Field trips, socials, and much more. In addition, the presenters will share how implementing the Pre-AP curriculum has not only changed the culture of the school, but also encouraged more students to join in the journey of AP courses.
