This session is designed to provide teachers with step-by-step processes for teaching students to craft successful analysis essays. Throughout the session, participants will explore strategies for close reading, identifying author's purpose, developing a thesis, drafting an essay, and reflecting on the entire process. Each strategy can be altered or adjusted to fit the instructional needs of any teacher. The presenter, who teaches AP Language and Composition and AP Literature and Composition, has developed and tested these strategies in her classroom for the past 5 year, with success.
