In this session, participants will learn how to use “cold reading” as an instructional tool in the classroom as a way of modeling the real-time analysis of poetry. They will be guided through effective organizational strategies that will allow them to quickly identify meaningful characteristics of poetry, organize them logically, and illustrate for their students the surmountable task of writing about a poem you’ve never seen before.
