Creating a culture of high academic achievement benefits all students. In partnership with College Board, Pearland ISD has increased Advanced Placement exam participation 432% in eight years, a 129% increase in 4s and 5s in two years, and increased diversity of student representation while maintaining passing percentages at or above state, and in some cases, global averages. Enrollment in advanced classes has positively affected campus and district accountability measures. Session participants will learn new ways to look at teacher and student data in order to drive instruction and to improve student achievement. Participants will also learn cost effective strategies for program growth, and participate in a discussion of how to compete with the increasing popularity of dual credit.
