Learn and practice strategies to engage students in whole-class discussion that moves from snorkeling on the surface of a topic to scuba diving the depths of literature, articles, and other learning objectives. The session will overview variations in the Socratic Seminar model as well as scoring and assessment options. While the focus of this session will be on fostering meaningful discussion in the English/Language Arts classroom, these practices can be implemented in any content area.
