In this interactive, hands-on session we will explain, step-by-step, how we implemented AP Human Geography as a mandatory, all-inclusive sophomore course. We are one of only two districts in the country to do so. We have a diverse student body with a wide range of backgrounds and capacities. We will explain how we carefully front-loaded professional development and planning to support teachers--and how we set up supports and measures for both teachers and students to insure success. We will lead teachers through a reflective process that will help any teachers broaden the audience of who can take and be successful in an AP course.
