108 - Strategies from the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project Applied to AP Spanish Literature

The Teachers College Reading and Writing Project is a program which allows students to improve their reading and writing skills. Mainly, there are two strategies from TCRWP that I adapted to my AP class that have shown a better performance when students face the exam.The first one is Independent Reading: This strategy is a fundamental part of the class and ensures the students better performance in regards to intertextual analysis.The second strategy I use are the Writing Conferences: During this part, students learn to develop argumentative texts. These conferences are meant to be personalized, where the students have the opportunity to improve their progress. These strategies have been implemented in almost every class but there are more strategies from the TCRWP that I intend to use when needed. In summary, my session will teach how these modified strategies can be applied in the class in order to improve students’ skills so they are more likely to succeed on the AP Exam
