Angela Anttila is a certified infection preventionist working as a nurse epidemiologist in the Surveillance Branch with the CDC’s Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion. She provides consultation and technical assistance regarding surveillance for healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) using the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN). She serves as a subject matter expert for clinical inquiries related to the application of the CDC's HAI definitions and criteria in the Long-term Care Facility Component. For more than 21 years, Angela has been successful at blending her patient care expertise and passion for public health. She has effectively engaged in roles of infection prevention and control, healthcare epidemiology, academia, consulting, information technology, healthcare quality improvement, correctional medicine, and clinical excellence. She holds an MSN and a PhD in public health and epidemiology.
