James Won is the Manager for Human Factors Engineering for the Center for Healthcare Quality and Analytics at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), Lecturer of Human Systems Engineering at the School of Engineering and Applied Science of the University of Pennsylvania, and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Associated Faculty, Adjunct Track, for the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. Dr. Won received his B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and his Ph.D. in Human Factors Engineering from Tufts University. His professional experience through MIT Lincoln Laboratory includes work for the Department of Defense, Missile Defense Agency, and the Federal Aviation Administration. Dr. Won is currently leading human factors projects at CHOP, supporting a variety of units and enterprise initiatives in the collective journey to high reliability and effective, safe patient care.
