Tiffany J. Silmon, MPH, CIC is the Director of Infection Prevention and Control at Chesapeake Regional Healthcare in Chesapeake, Virginia. Prior to accepting a position there, she was a District Epidemiologist with the Virginia Department of Health from 2004 to 2011. Mrs. Silmon received a full academic scholarship as part of the Dozoretz National Institute for Minorities in Applied Sciences (DNIMAS) program at Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia, where she earned her Bachelor in Science degree in Biology in 2001. In 2004, she received a Master of Public Health degree in Epidemiology from Eastern Virginia Medical School and was subsequently inducted in the Delta Omega Honorary Public Health Society in 2005. She is a member of several professional organizations including the Association for Professionals in Infection Control (APIC), the Society of Healthcare Epidemiologists (SHEA) and the Coastal Virginia Infection Preventionists and Epidemiologists (CVIPE).
