Alina Stancovici, BSN, RN, CCRN-K, CIC is an Infection Preventionist working for the Advocate Aurora Health (AAH) system, based at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago. Alina has been with Advocate since 2009, first as a Critical Care Registered Nurse and then as an Infection Preventionist. Her educational background includes a BA in Education and a BS in Nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Alina is a Daisy Award recipient and is certified in Infection Prevention and Critical Care. With AAH established as the 10th largest integrated health system in the country, she played an instrumental role in implementing and sustaining the newly redesigned, system-wide Infection Prevention program. She is an advocate for inter-professional collaboration for preventing infections. Before devoting her work to helping patients, Alina taught high school in her home country of Romania. Outside of the hospital, she skis, hikes National Parks and participates in triathlons.
