Karen Jones, MPH,RN, CIC is a Clinical Research Project Coordinator at The University of Michigan, Research Center for Translational Epidemiology and Aging at Michigan (RC-TEAM). She has been an infection preventionist since 2009 and began her IP work by leading several quality improvement projects to reduce device-associated infections at Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.
She was a content consultant for the CDC-HRET STRIVE project and was a project coordinator for On the CUSP: Stop CAUTI during her time as a practicing hospital IP. Prior to infection prevention, she was a trauma ER nurse for almost 15 years.
