Steven Beites is an Assistant Professor at the Laurentian University McEwen School of Architecture and Principal of Studio Kimiis, an award-winning design/fabrication studio working at the intersection of art and architecture. Steven’s creative practice and teaching methodologies embody a research that is focused on a material-driven design framework, exploring the interconnected nature of form, fabrication and performance within a refined digital sensibility. As a practitioner, Steven has been the successful recipient of 11 national and international competitions culminating in a series of high-profile commissions across Canada including a recent exhibition at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2018.
